Paper Lillies to add in the Background of the Swan Image

I have been making some paper lillies and bull rushes to add to the image of the swan as background objects. I'm yet to decide whether I want to photograph the swan on a mirror, this would make it look like a lake but there is the risk that a mirror would make the image look too busy, especially now that I have these lillies to add to the image. I think photographing the image onto a black background would be successful because the white paper will be a huge contrast against the black. Minimalist colors would be a good juxtaposition against other images, for example the image of the sweet house which is full of colour.
