Hansel and Gretel lettering

These images are different versions of the title image. I think the darkest lit one works the best as the image looks a lot darker and is a great contrast against the brightly coloured letters.

The next step is for me to add the 'and' in the middle but I'm struggling with choosing the font and whether to write the word ' and ' or use an ampersand (&) to save space between the lettering.

Pocket Mirrors artefact

I can order 50 of these mirrors for £35 and all I have to do is upload my designs. I think they mirrors are mainly aimed at females but I think this compliments my work.

Making the witch out of foam board, black paper and liquorice and then working on the face once the body is constructed. . .

Characters finally finished! ( The photographs didn't turn out the best) Now all I have to do is photograph them...

When I showed my tutors Ian an Jo, they advised me that the characters faces needed still more work. I had orginally drawn the faces on with a black fine liner onto white paper. I completely agreed that the faces didn't seem to go with the rest of body, in the style that I made them. My tutors suggested that start off painting the faces a colour rather than leaving them white and then perhaps try and create a their faces with paper and found materials. So I have taken their advice on board and I have painted their faces and then built them up with foam board and paper. I found images of other peoples eyes to fit their faces and then painted and drew over them.

The making of the oven

I have captured some quick photograph's on how I constructed the oven. The process was very much like the process for building the house, except it was much quicker because I knew what I was doing and what was going to work because of previously working on the house. I have used the biscuits in hope that it looked like brick work on the oven.
I have filled the back of the oven with foam board but I may have to cut the back of it out once I get it into the photographic studio, so that I can shine an orange/yellow light through it so it looks as though the oven is lit up with fire. The only other option is to get a mini light and put it inside the oven behind the paper flames.

I decided to look at her work after speaking with Gillian Blease down in London and she mentioned researching into window installations and theatre set design. Article on David Hockney's Instant iPad Art

I was researching into the iPad online where I came across David Hockney's exhibition of iPad drawings! Here is the link to the article and video.
This really does prove how much technology is moving on and how much of an impact it is having on the art and design industry. There are new ways of getting your work noticed and out there. I think devices like the iPad have been a huge turning point for designers, for example, ebooks have opened up a whole new way of illustrating for on screen images, graphic designers are now having to come up with a new concept of text layout's for books that are displayed on a screen because the iPad is not a book ( I must remember to keep this in mind when working on my final major project). Animation is now possible and that's another field which has been opened up for animators which could become very popular for children's stories as it makes them much more exciting and interactive.
I find Hockney's idea of displaying his art work on lots of iPad's inspirational and perhaps I could do this for my end of year show?
